A few more Laelia-isms...
"A baby can climb up my legs and climb up on my shoulders and right up to my head." 1/3/13
"I didn't have a chance to ride on a dinosaur. I never had a ride on one." Random lunchtime thoughts. 2/2/13
In reference to her one piece pajamas with the full length zipper, which she was insisting on unzipping. "I want to keep my zipper open a little bit to let my tummy-air out." 2/7/13
Every time we drive in Desdemona I ask Laelia if she wants to wear her mittens and every time she says no. So on the only day I don't ask, of course, she wants them about 10 ft out of the driveway. We were driving about 15 minutes to our Bible study. After telling her I didn't have any and she could warm her hands on her legs or neck, she dropped the matter and we sang The Wheels on the Bus for the remainder of the trip. When we pulled into the church parking lot she said, "There's the B-E-F (that's what she calls the Bible study; it's actually called BSF) church! After I teach about the wonder of Jesus and God, I can go home and see my mittens!!" A toddler never forgets.
Laelia's latest trick is trying to teach God the alphabet. She sits on the floor with Jeremy's Bible open, flips to the 'right' page and holds out her pointer finger while saying, "God, point to the letter 'A'. God, point to the letter 'C-A'. God, point to the letter 'A'." When I ask her how God is doing, she always answers, "Good," so I guess he knows his stuff. :)
